Hola Means Hola is built for Spanish learners who want to stay in Spanish. English hints are available with a press, but the dictionary is designed to be fully usable without them.

After the top 1,000 words, every entry is defined using only words more common than itself, and every definition is written to avoid circular explanations.

The result is a frequency-ordered dictionary that you can literally read front to back and understand.

There are 25,000 entries in this scrollable dictionary, while search covers more than 75,000 words and 450,000 forms, so conjugations, plurals, and inflected forms still lead you back to the word you need.

Listen Up

All 500 pages of the readable dictionary are also available in two listening modes: Spanish-only and bilingual.

(note that there's an option to skip obvious English cognates like 'animal' if you'd prefer to not listen to them.)
